Usually crowded and the rooms are very small. But most of the time it's better to have a place inside than to stay outside in a tent. 😉

Camped outside, used only the facilities and had few meals. Friendly staff and perfect location.
We had lunch here last week. The place is of course spectacular given its position on the glacier. What’s really amazing is how they manage to make such great food at such a high altitude. This place is a must. Go if you get a chance.
Great mountain refuge at 3500m altitude, very comfortable, the food was good and great value for money especially considering how difficult and expensive it is to bring it there! Staff was friendly and helpful, even in the early hours of the morning (breakfast from 4:30am)
We even got rewarded by a magnificent sunset!

A big mountain hut with a beautiful view.
In terms of food, there are limited gluten free options and you can only order hot food as a group.
The facilities are basic. The toilets were quite smelly as people could not or do not do squatting toilets.
Although there is an shower, it costs five euro and you need to tell them in advance for them to heat up water. However, there is no heated room for changing clothes.
They do not allow you to fill up tap water, so you need to buy water, which they only sell 500ml one that costs 2.5 Euro each.
In terms of dinner, the portion was okay, on the small sides.
In terms of breakfast, there are only harm and cheese for gluten free options.
There are not options for Gluten free snacks or sandwiches.
The beds were small but feels clean. There are only toliets below restaurant so it can be 3 story down for toliets in the night if you stay in the top 40-people dromee room.
Friendly staff, cozy environment, food was nothing special but a bit expensive. The toilets could be cleaner but it's ok, it isn't a hotel, it is a refuge.. 5 € for less than 5' shower...
The staff was kind and the dinner was good. But when you spend 70 euro for half board you don't expect to recieve old bread for breakfast and dinner and to have only 2 hours (from 4 am to 6 am) to have breakfast. Also the choice of selling only (expensive) half liter plastic water bottles (the only drinking water available) I didn't like. I know it's not a hotel but it was under my expectations.
Renewed and modern. Well organized. Nice location on the southern side of Monte Rosa.
Warning! Although the hut is only 1 hour away from the cable car this is glacial area. Appropriate equiment and experience required.
